The Future of Your World.

George: "Well I'm giving it to you. I don't have a crystal ball that tells me the future. The question posed, in short, is: Where are we headed? It's up to you if you want to answer that man. If not, I'll tell him.

Bzutu: "Those of kin working under the Angels of the Races as well as those of allegiance to the Angels of the Future have their work cut out for them. These are difficult times for them, busy for us in Progress, but not as stressful . . . present company excepted. I jest of course."

Le Projeteur: "I am le Projeteur. It is my common name, but you may call me the Planner. I am attached to the Angels of the Future in Europe, and one close to me is Midwayer Chief Brusque, whom you know so well. As for your life-long Friend, ABC-22, I can also not tell you what the future holds, but I can certainly inform you about the direction you should ideally steer your world in, if you were to have any say in this. The news I have for you is that under different circumstances your world would not be over-populated as so many claim, for there are more densely populated worlds doing quite well.

(Here the transmission stops, because of loud noises outdoors).

Le Projeteur: "I am the Planner, back with you now. We spoke before, and we may now continue our discussion. Only a few of you would have experienced the years immediately following World War II, which was a time of rejoicing and a time of innocense. It was a time of unlocked doors, positive moves, great efforts and optimism. But aside from that, it was generally a time of great spirituality and religious observances. This, my dear new friend has sadly been lost in the ensuing years.

"We talk about a time of spirituality right now, but it is not as common as you may think. In projecting the future, as it behooves a planner to so do, we can see that it would be difficult for you as a group to attain this spiritual progress, this spiritual momentum, and somehow create a worldwide drive towards spirituality as it existed in the years following World War II. However, I assure you my friend, a World War III would not be a suitable alternative. I beg for you to declare far and wide, loud and clear, that changes of your caring for your world-wide kin must occur, and these changes must occur by your will, by your effort, by your concensus, and by your understanding that collectively you are one - one single organism that can build itself up, or break itself down.

"The alternative in the difficult times to come will not be a war to solve all unrest. I hope that with this I have satified the enquirer. There is no need for you to apologize for the previous interruption that left us, as you call it, 'hanging five'. I thank my brother ABC-22 for allowing me, a Midwayer attached to the Angels of the Future, to speak with you.
