Subject: “Transcendence.”

Thought Adjuster: “It is possible for a human being to transcend the physical. We are not referring here to supernatural powers like those possessed by the superheroes of human fantasy. True transcendence beyond the material is achieved when a human being understands through faith that the body and mind they possess are merely a vehicle for journeying through this world, and that once their mortal life has ended, the mortal vehicle will be recycled and remain in this world. But the greatest truth discovered by those who find God in their hearts is that their life is far more than what they can ‘see and hear’ in this world, for what they are does not end with the physical body.
The discovery and understanding of this truth are of great importance in human life. This is not a purely intellectual understanding nor the acceptance of a dogma. It is a certainty acquired through faith and through living the experience of being loved by a universal Father who prepares us for a magnificent and eternal destiny. Mortal life then ceases to be a journey into the unknown and becomes an adventure filled with purpose, a step on an ascending ladder where each rung brings us closer to the best we can become—the most perfected version of our personality.
Although it is necessary to seek physical preservation and material survival, those who begin to develop spiritual insight acquire another level of values that offers them a higher, more spiritual perspective for making decisions. Those who live for the world suffer and strive to accumulate the treasures of the world in order to live a fuller life. Those who live for eternity know that the treasures of the world are temporary and fleeting; therefore, they direct their efforts toward achievements of eternal value—those that grant true and lasting happiness. Even if their material life may not meet the materialistic expectations of the majority, they truly live happily and contentedly because they have learned to think independently and to judge their success by the degree of their spiritual development.
And how is spiritual development demonstrated? The Master said it two thousand years ago: the degree to which a creature has consecrated themselves to the will of the Father in heaven is measured by the quality of their love for their fellow beings. Those who truly work at the task of creating a universe established in light and life, co-creating with the heavenly Father an ever more beautiful reality, genuinely seek to help their fellow beings and understand very well that the greatest happiness, the greatest well-being, and the greatest satisfaction are possible only when all creatures live and work in perfection. This is the goal of the citizens of the universe, the children of God who labor for their Father’s eternal enterprise.”
