Thought Adjuster: “Our Father could have created a universe of puppets, but He didn’t. Will is what gives originality to your being and it is an important feature of your personality. Originality and variety in the universes are only possible thanks to this individual will. When we talk about yielding human (or celestial) will to the Divine Will, we are not talking about following it blindly. This is simply to always choose the best path — the path with the most love — which is the best way of doing things that provide a greater good for the biggest number of beings.
“Human beings have been granted free will and it can be used to decide to learn the best path. This path has already been created by the Father and is available to all, so each one can decide to follow it and thus achieve success in eternity. There would be no value in choosing to consecrate your life to the highest ideals and trying to become increasingly perfect if the possibility of making the wrong decision or choosing another path did not exist.
“Your will is what allows you to rise by your own efforts and by your own means above the animal nature to become a perfected spirit. This is how a human being reaches the level of God, a miraculous transformation that amazes all those who have the fortune to observe the interesting and varied lives that are lived by the creatures born in space and time.
“Free will is not a trap set by a capricious God to make His children falter. It is instead the way in which our Father empowers His children, allowing them to choose for themselves what our Father knows is best, adapting in a better way and with sincere interest to the discipline of the universes — adopting the attitude of always searching for perfection and for a higher and more beautiful expression of being.
“It is by constantly choosing the path suggested by your Father that you start to understand Him better and discover the reasons why the universe works the way it does. This represents the highest knowledge to which any being can aspire — an increasing knowledge of deity. Through exercising your will, you collaborate with your Father creating yourself into a newly perfected being, achieving the rewards of eternity.”

Thought Adjuster: “Let us talk about Communion. Communion is defined as the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.
“In His last days on your planet, at what you know as the Last Supper, Jesus initiated the Sacrament of Communion as His personal legacy: ‘Do this in memory of me.’ This is indeed a rite of remembrance. Human nature is very quick at forgetting and needs visual or mental aids to keep in mind what is truly important. The bread and the wine shared at the Last Supper became such symbols of the living connection Jesus wanted to maintain with mankind.
“Yet, genuine communion is not just going through the moves of sharing a meal. It is much more than that, as it has to occur at all the levels of your being. Jesus was pointing to the fact that He was forever available to His planetary children. Sometimes, an external ritual opens the door to much more if it is performed with a sincere heart. It is the sincerity of the heart — rather than the ritual — that brings forth that wished-for moment of intimate communion where no words need to be spoken — a communion of the souls.
“Not only did Jesus wish for you to remember Him and His loving legacy, He also wanted you to break bread with Him and your siblings — in His Name and in His Memory. He invited all to sit at His table. Yet, as depicted in one of His parables, the initial guests excused themselves and the master of the house filled their seats with the beggars and the poor.
“Dear ones, learn to commune with one another at a soul level. Be there for one another. Share of yourself, as Jesus did — freely and without expecting anything in return. The communion of souls has a huge synergetic impact, as it is a place where Spirit joins in. Whenever kindness, compassion, and empathy are expressed, the walls erected around the heart crumble. It is in your power to become such workers that contribute to the beautification of your world. As you live in Love and in Light, you are indeed remembering the Master and His lifestyle. You can be assured that you are acting in His Name and that, just as His actions became His eternal legacy, so will yours, as Love never depreciates.”

Subject: “Unconditional Love: Loving Over and Beyond.”

Sharmon: “Do human beings on Urantia really know what is meant by ‘Unconditional Love?’ Many people use this expression as romantic jargon and to cause an impression, but do they really know what it means? Unconditional Love catches the essence of true love. Love is not pure if it is not unconditional. Therefore, only God can give love in its most pure expression, because God loves with no respect for persons. In fact, it is impossible for human beings to show unconditional love by themselves, for such love needs to be a fruit of the Holy Spirit in you, enabling you to love over and beyond.
“Loving Over and Beyond Any Qualification. If you love unconditionally, no qualification — good or bad — in the person you love may alter your love. You will love if either the person is deserving or not, pleasant or irritating, good or bad — no qualification matters because your love is unconditional. A specific need about a person may determine the way love is expressed, but never the quality of unconditional love. The reason for loving somebody primarily resides on your will, a decision by you, and you decide if this love is going to be over and beyond any qualification, or not.
“Loving Over and Beyond Any Rejection. When somebody rejects you is when it hurts you most. When you are hurt may come the temptation to stop loving and give back evil for evil. But if you let anything in you — even the pain of rejection — prevent or diminish your love, then, a condition is created, and your love is no longer unconditional. You cannot pretend not being hurt by the rejection — it’s useless. The only way to love over and beyond a hurtful rejection is giving unconditional, complete and replete forgiveness. Then rejection will not stop your love.
“Loving Over and Beyond Any Perception. Unconditional love is regardless of what other people’s perception may say about it. People may not approve or praise your love; however, for your love it is immaterial; it doesn’t depend on praise or reproach, it doesn't depend on anything, for it is an unconditional love. You may feel happy or sad with others’ opinions, but nothing of that will change your love’s essence because your love is over and beyond other people’s perception. Unconditional love charges nothing and accepts no payment for it. It is priceless and ultimately ‘unpayable.’ It’s a love unimpressed by others’ evaluations.
“So, my dear friend, unconditional love is a very special business. Not everybody is capable of nurturing it, or even capable of showing it. There is no condition for this kind of love. It is so spiritual that it is almost unexplainable. It comes from God and needs the help of the Spirit of God to be manifested. But do not be discouraged. Perfect love requires perfection, and that, my friend, is a progressive experiential journey. We will get it one day on Paradise, but the journey starts here, on Urantia. The Scribe: “For anyone brought up on a rebellious planet it is difficult to always remember that all of the Master’s creatures are kin, In fact, my friend, when Michael calls you His brother, you inwardly cringe a little for after all these years of comfortably ‘lining up for work’ with your Midwayer brothers and sisters as equals, the Master still awes you. And He awes you to such a degree that you once again clearly need to force yourself to see your innate respect for the Creator Son ‘happily sit next to’ friendship. How awkward is that? How difficult at least!
“Are you aware of this momentary, awkward feeling? Good! You know it! Do you know what causes these feelings? No! They remain a mystery and they may long be something to overcome for those young ones who unluckily endured the second world war of starvation in Europe. Your elders, of necessity, needed to ‘scrape’ for long hours to survive and few had time left over for their youngsters. Untrained teachers with their arrays of brutal punishment, even the doings of ham-handed priests, only ever deserved relentless distrust.
“For a deeply thinking child, for any child, really, this was not a world that fostered trust in grown-ups. Why trust a bishop who appointed that bungling priest? Why trust a pope who appointed that bishop? And who appointed the pope and according to that bible of God’s words was known to get angry and jealous? Took sides in wars? What legacy of misinformation and most errant human suppositions!
“The teacher with his whipping rattan cane is your brother. Surprise! The village priest is of your kin. What a blow! Even the pope is family. When finally you are released from the Urantia special ‘internment’ camp on Mansonia One, you will at last understand and fully accept that all God-knowing creatures of all colors, all lands, all religions, yes, all planets, are family. Your eyes will be opened and you will be eager to tell us that we were always right; that all are equal and that all are immediate family.
“In time you will be caring for that very family and you will do that well. On Mansonia, when you have unlearnt some remaining quasy spiritual beliefs, you will learn to love all those who now denounce you, distrust you or call you a fraud. For as much as they now think they know you, you will by then have taught them things of undeniable value and truth.
“For now, my friend, always do count on Me for the answers that don’t come readily to mind. I Am the Damascus Scribe.”

Thought Adjuster: “It is time to leave behind all those things that burden you, slow your walk and complicate it.
“If you have decided to undertake the adventure of your inner liberation — the journey to a life of peace and tranquility — you need to empty the backpack that you carry and fill it with the new things you will need.
“Yes, take out everything that does not serve you well; everything that loads you up and weighs you down; everything that only makes you stop and slow your advance.
“Remove the resentments that weigh so heavily, that are like a chain that binds you to the past and not let you advance. Remove the guilt and judgments towards yourself and others. Remove the fear, as fear paralyzes you and will not let you move. Empty the full cargo that weighs so heavily on you, that binds you and slows you so much.
“And then go ahead, walk lightly. Fill your backpack with new things that will make your journey lighter, more pleasant and more reliable. Fill yourself with a lot of faith, so all the time you will know that with every step you take, you are never alone. Fill yourself with gratitude; thanking every step of your way that will make the other steps simpler and greater. Fill yourself with light, so your path is always clearly showing. Even when the road might be very dark, you can carry that torch with you and light the way.
“And finally, fill yourself with love. Love will allow you to make the decision to undertake the journey to your liberation. Love will allow you to leave everything that no longer serves you. Love will guide your steps. Love will feed you, enlighten you and fill you with joy and peace.
“Walk lightly, walk in peace, for this is your journey and no one else’s. Walk it free, walk it now.”
