Teacher Uteah: There is one fundamental idea that must preclude all ideas and understandings about higher consciousness that is required to attain a progressive path of growth both spiritually and mentally. What I am speaking about is your ability to conceptualize and think deeply about meaningful ideas and potentials — in other words, to have “deep thoughts” and to develop a personal philosophy for living. It is possible for each of you to develop the skills of a philosopher and tap into great potentials that lay buried beneath the surface of your busy mind. It starts with an intention, then an action, then a discipline to continue deep thinking going forward. Deep thinking is a well that leads to all knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual guidance — it is the path to the seat of soul where the Father’s Presence dwells.
Of all the great minds that have contributed to the progress of your world — scientists, philosophers, theologians, and inventors — they all have one thing in common — they all have apportioned a moderate amount of their waking moments in each day to deep thoughts. What are deep thoughts? Deep thoughts are those thoughts that require inner dialog that pertain to ideas using imagination, reasoning, deduction, assumption, consideration, evidence, comparison, formulation, and projection — thoughts about your future; the development of your potentials; self-improvement; social improvement; looking at opposing sides of an issue and proposing an honest solution that serves the greatest good. Deep thoughts are creative thoughts! There are many definitions of deep thought and you might think about it as the opposite of a shallow thought.
“What should I have for lunch today?” “What entertainments shall I engage in today?” “What vices will help me feel better and pass the time?” “I’m not smart enough to make those decisions.” “I’m not attractive.” “I’m not good enough.” “What new gadget will capture my attention?” “The car needs washing and the grass needs cutting.” These are shallow thoughts that result in activities that do not require much cerebral investment — these are predictable and have no eternal value, yet they occupy the greatest proportion of conscious moments in each day for many people. Little soul growth happens when this kind of thinking dominates the human mind.
Deep thinking leads to dialog with the Indwelling Spirit; your guides; and connection with Universal Mind — unity thinking. Many of the greatest discoveries in science, inventions, and medical cures and treatments, have come from inner guidance when engaging in deep thinking. Whether or not you believe that those “ah-ha” moments originated in your own mind or were whispered by a celestial being is irrespective of the expression to create. The vital understanding is using your mind and taking the time to engage it in worthy activity and co-creativity.
You will always have a need to engage the shallow thoughts to get you through the mechanics of the day, but it benefits your eternal survival and humanity collectively that you engage your mind with deeper thinking. This is how a planet moves into an enlightened era — as more and more people use their minds and access this place where inner guidance speaks — Truth, Beauty, and Goodness becomes the expression of those weightier thoughts.
Take time today, my dear students, to think deeply about your life, your dreams, your hopes for the future — begin an inner dialog and access your own personal Socrates — the Indwelling Spirit of the Universal Father, and create something — solve a problem; heal a relationship; write a book; paint a masterpiece — spend quality time in your minds and live a meaningful life!

Thought Adjuster: “Gratitude is paramount to receiving the blessings from on High – the opportunities received by those who want to understand and incorporate the will of the Father in their lives. Gratitude prepares the mind to accept, because those who express gratitude understand that they have received more than they needed in order to grow. Gratitude is a product of wisdom, of the experience of those who have observed in their lives that in the end everything results in the greater good, when the outcomes are left in the hands of the Father.
“This is why it is a good idea to start your meditation – the practice of Stillness – with an attitude of gratitude. In this way you leave behind your false needs and self-imposed limitations to open your mind and receive the things the Father knows you need. Prayer is more effective when a creature says, ‘your will be done’. This represents the understanding that your point of view is limited therefore you prefer to trust in the divine intelligence of the One who can see the end from the beginning and knows all the answers.
“An attitude of gratitude is also an elixir for your life. It creates a lasting peace that does not depend on the situation you may currently be facing. Those who live with the attitude of appreciation of the lessons that are presented do not complain about their current difficulties, regardless of how hard they may be, because they have discovered that anything that happens can be transformed into a ladder to move one step closer to the eternal goals of perfection and God-likeness.”

Subject: “A Small Twist, Big Changes.” – Part 1.
Message received by George Barnard.
George: “I’ve been in this country for over 60 years and each year around this time we’d be bombarded by Christmas beetles. Last year I saw just one and it was already dead, this year none at all. It seems everyone noticed the Christmas beetles’ absence. This is most spooky, tho: there are no cicadas in the trees, no spiders under the eaves, no hornet nests all along our fence line or under the giant leaves of the monsterio plants.
“The almost complete absence of insects has brought out some 12 to 15 species of birds, begging us for food each day, all day. Some species that are normally shy, like the tiny blue wrens, present themselves as fearless and some pairs, like the plovers, have simply raised no young this season. To me this is a picture of even worse times to come.”
Teacher Samuel: “You have noted a small twist that is heralding some new big changes. Not only is your planet receiving more light and heat as your sun is doing what it must do, ‘a radiation’ — an aspect of your sun’s output you have long overlooked — is penetrating deeper into the ground and killing many ‘bugs’, as you call them. Hence not much room for hornets and spiders let alone your insect-eating feathered friends. What to do? What to do? That is, beyond feeding your bird friends some soft dog food.
“Consider now what it is you do when you are out on a sun-shiny day. Correct, you wear a cap, a straw hat, even a wide-brimmed Akubra. It’s in this fashion you can consistently float a huge shade over the most sun-exposed parts of your world. You might also begin to whiten the thousands of square miles of road deck that takes in the heat. None of this should surprise you. You basically intuit all this, but you come to me for confirmation only and then you ignore what you’re told, let the heat build up until some big bad compensating volcano announces the next icy winter.
“It’s true, my friend, ages since we recommended ‘you’ purchase a New Guinea river to irrigate all your fertile land, but at this stage ‘you’ have not even acknowledged that you are the keepers of this Urantia farm. Progress is slow down there, but we still love you.

Thought Adjuster: “When you think of any of your acquaintances, a specific aspect of their personality comes to mind as a psychological identifier. Indeed, as for an iceberg, each character has a ‘top’ which consists of its strongest attribute that stands out. If you were to describe your friends, you would first mention this dominant trait — be it generosity, humility, optimism, and so on.
“What are you known for? As you evolve toward the fullness of your personality, you may start exhibiting additional positive identifiers, as you get to embody more of the fruits of Spirit.
“Indeed, the fruits of Spirit are variances of the combined values of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. Each positive attribute passes the strict quality control of these three parameters. It is genuine; it is attractive by its beautiful nature, and it radiates goodness.
“If one or more of these elements are absent in a creative endeavor, it won’t receive the green light from on High, and the human engineers should go back to the drafting board to amend their project before it gets ‘real-ized.’
“Jesus’ personality cannot be described in a one-liner, as it was rich and versatile. It is also the reason why He made a lasting impression on a broad spectrum of personalities because they had something in common with Him.
“As you develop a robust character, you are becoming more colorful in the expression of your unique personality. People evolve in their embodiment of truth, and their manifestation of beauty and goodness. As they get to know themselves more intimately in the course of their lifetime. Others also can identify their character growth by their new character adornments.
“If Jesus could do it, so can you. His Spirit of Truth is within you to guide you in your personal exploration.”

The Beloved One: “Willingly open your heart, soul and mind, when you tune into the Silence within. If this still presents a problem to you, ask for My help, so I can fill you ever deeper with Heaven’s Love to overflowing, even in the darkest recesses of stubborn willfulness.
“Allow Me to soften to My love all the places of resistance, so darkness and rebelliousness can flee before My light. You will become so filled with My love and light, that these will spill over to others, to empower them in turn.
“In these matters I desire your co-operation, for only you can help Me make this come to pass. It is a continuous decision making process. And the nearer you move to Me in a greater conscious awareness, the easier this will become and the clearer you will sense My guidance within.
“It is a deliberate choosing between light and dark, right and wrong, positive and negative thoughts. It is a most valuable lesson in discernment. It is a training that each soul, is to sooner or later embark upon, for there is nothing hidden before the all-knowing God.
“It is the ‘becoming perfect’ on the road to perfection. Purity of heart and sincerity of mind need to both be cultivated. There will never be any hidden agenda on this path as your conscience will ‘talk back to you’ and make you feel uncomfortable as you make a less than perfect choice in those moments when you need to choose.
“Humans have an inbuild radar to discriminate between good and bad, but this needs to be activated in early childhood by corrective behavior. This radar can become blanketed by selfishness, instant gratification urges and excesses, addictions and the like, which bar the door to true soul freedom and expansion.
“It is desired that child-culture gains greater attention from both the parents and the community. Early childhood years are the most important formative years for a happy adulthood, or instead, an unhappy adulthood when no proper child-restraint has been taught.
“However, adults can compensate for their unhappy childhood, when they consciously make behavioral changes through practicing self-discipline.”
