Thought Adjuster: “Many mortals on this world have a fixation about accumulating money without really considering if a true benefit would thereby be obtained. Many have problems in trying to determine when they have obtained enough wealth. Human beings certainly need to work in order to sustain themselves and to obtain those experiences that strengthen their character and develop their personality worthy of trust and responsibility — therewith useful to the universe. Remember the words of the Master suggesting that those who are great in small things may be great in big things, also, but how can anybody trust those who in small matters don’t even make an effort? This idea is enough to illustrate the validity of human work.
“However, humans were not made for work but to attain perfection. This involves many other areas of life, like the relationships among each other and most importantly the personal search for God and the effort to understand and live His will. Work is about the tasks that may contribute to that end, but it is not the only one. Work could also become a great obstacle when the sole motivation is obtaining material benefits at the expense of other important areas of human life.
“I declare that if you are doing the work that has been assigned to you today, investing the best of your effort and motivated by a sincere love for your peers, you would already be fulfilling everything that is expected of you in this area. Once you have completed your allotted activity time to ensure your sustenance and provide your contribution to your civilization and your world, you are free to explore other things with your time. If your work already provides for your needs, what sense does it make to search for more money to provide for things which you don’t really need and which will not add any real value to your life?
“True peace will not be found in the things you possess. In fact, I would suggest that your happiness is often inversely proportional to the amount of things you accumulate. Only those who discover that there is nothing they really need because they have received it all from their Father can be truly happy and truly free. This is the kind of happiness I desire for you, a happiness that does not depend on anything external and does not vary with the tides of this world.
“This is the true meaning of elevating yourself above material things: An intelligent person will not abandon everything to leave his or her personal well-being and the well-being of his or her family in the hands of luck. A wise person who has learned to trust in the Father will work diligently and will enjoy equally all other aspects of life, deriving happiness in living the will of the Father because experience has shown this person the multiple benefits of living a more spiritual life.”

The Scribe: “The answers to your questions are yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. And I have not yet answered them all. The difficulties that befell the primitive Urantia communities were many and even if we were to discuss them all in a day, though we are likely to need more time than that, we would not cover them all. In truth, my friend, there were and are multitudinous factors.
“For untold millennia Celestials of all kinds have observed your races and determined it to become likely you would lose headway, inbreed more and offer an ever-growing number of regressives to the total pool. It was quite agreed the Melchizedeks should have their way and the Urantia communities should be forcefully finalized. Michael disagreed and He was right. So there you have my first ‘yes.’ You are winning, although slowly.
“Before the inauguration of your Planetary Prince, Caligastia, there were local wars and regular skirmishes. In later bringing the clever and enterprising of the races together in Dalamatia and sending them back to their communities as fair leaders, reduced the instances of inter-tribal wars. With Caligastia’s betrayal came more unrest but now more of you are against wars. Yes, world peace is now more likely.
“On regular worlds where Adamic input is normal and thorough, the population becomes quite uniform in a comparatively short time, more progressive, cooperative and frankly more easily adjusted to the fair and honest world governments they themselves appoint. A common language is a great help towards achieving common goals. Here an advance is somewhat halted, but yes, there is marginal progress to date, my dear friend.
“There is so much in the way of naturally evolved religions in this world, so much man-made belief on the mere wisp of spiritual input. You Urantians need to become more appreciative of yourselves for the fact that you believe in anything at all that you cannot see, hear or touch. For long enough have you been condemned for hearing voices when Celestials spoke with you. Yes, Monjoronson will come, he will be here and be a divine Brother and Teacher to you all.
“Some will continue to adhere to the fable that Urantia can support merely 500 million total — elites and their choices of virtually uneducated slaves. Their program will be initiated and then it will fail. Many of the Satanic ones will be lost but many more will be converted in time as your Paradise Savior will have His impact on you all with His God-given Talents for Truth, His much needed Teachings of Beauty and His undeniable Credo of Goodness, for He will bring you the Father’s Love.

Subject: “The Art of Listening.”

The Beloved One: “Let us begin today with the topic of listening. This is a most difficult skill or art to master, especially inward listening to Spirit, because usually listening is done superficially. Most people listen but the words seem to often ‘go in one ear and out the other,’ because of the habit of un-focused listening. Listening is a skill-full art that can be cultivated and refined by the one who truly attempts to listen. It has everything to do with focusing and the level of intent.
“Outward listening is often shallow and meaningless; the reason for this can also be a sort of protection because of the cacophony of too many empty words on this planet, which are often carelessly and thoughtlessly spoken and as a result, the hearer develops a ‘deaf ear,’ which can be a subconscious protection from too much noise.
“All too often, when someone speaks, the other is already busy formulating an answer in his or her mind because of wanting to respond before the speaker is finished. Therefore, the speaker gets interrupted by the impatience of the one, who can’t wait to have a say. Also, at times there is a fine line as some speakers repeat themselves and don’t know how to end a conversation.
“Actually, the listening I desire for you to pay attention to is the inner listening which is even more difficult as this art discerns the true motive and contend behind the spoken word and your learning to ‘read between the lines’ so to speak and to ‘feel with the heart’ the words which are not being spoken. In this manner discernment can take place as to what lives in the other person's heart with which one has the conversation.
“Listening is an artistic skill that can be refined when more wisdom and discernment is being mastered. Of course the ultimate listening skill you can develop is by paying full attention to my words. It is oh-so-easy to come between with your own thoughts, pre-opinions and belief systems, especially when you sincerely doubt, whether it is I, who speaks or if they are the ruminations of your own mind. In times to come you will know who it is that speaks from within.
“You can begin by asking yourself these questions: ‘Have I been uplifted while being in the presence of my Thought Adjuster, whom I call my Beloved?’ ‘Am I feeling Loved and is my own love towards others increasing?’ ‘Am I feeling more secure in myself and have I a calmer demeanor?’
“If you can answer these in the affirmative, you will then know that you are on the ‘right track,’ and if others chide you and say that it is not possible to hear the Small Voice within, it is because they have not recognized Me within them yet or have not yet developed the required depth of listening, so My words do not resonate within them and therefore they presume to pass judgment because of this lack of recognition in their own hearts.
“Continue to learn and listen to my voice, stay focused and pay close attention as I am leading you deeper into yourself.”

“We find God through the leadings of spiritual insight, but we approach this insight of the soul through the love of the beautiful, the pursuit of truth, loyalty to duty, and the worship of divine goodness.” [UB2076:05]
Thought Adjuster: “Dear child, we are a match made in Heaven. Isn’t this the most amazing fact to ponder pertaining to your life and to the life of your many planetary siblings? Doesn’t it convey to you a sense of the magnitude of the Father’s Love for each one of His children? The mere contemplation of this fact of life should greatly ‘appreciate’ the value you confer on your life.
“Our eternal partnership is the Divine Promise made to you at the time of My coming to indwell you. I did not chose you lightly as I am looking forward to an eternal relationship — not one of the type ‘till death us part.’
“I dwell within you and partake of your every living moment — as a mere Observer, or as a more involved Partner. You are the one deciding to which level you take our relationship as I am patiently waiting for you to initiate each step. As I witness your touching efforts to include Me in your life, I come out of what is perceived by you to be My hiding place — My aloofness.
“I am far from being an illusion — a figment of your imagination. I am not the one who is elusive as I am 100% committed to bring you back with Me to the glory of Paradise. Yet, My own longings are not enough as it takes two to get there. Paradise is not a place where the Father’s children are dragged kicking and screaming. Rather, it is a place of incommensurable attraction, meant to fully quench the longings of any soul.
“As you strive to ascend toward those absolute spiritual realities, you simultaneously bring them down into your own being by increasingly embodying them. You could compare that process to the one of calibrating the lens of a camera so as to get a much sharper image.
“A camera can zoom in on a specific objective, while at the same time drowning in blurriness the rest of the panorama. This is what happens when human beings are over focusing on their physical reality at the expense of its spiritual counterpart. My job as your Thought ‘Adjuster’ is to help you adjust your mental focus so as to get a sharper image of your eternal destiny.
“As we cultivate our relationship, as you adjust your life’s decisions to the divine criteria of Truth, Beauty and Goodness, you get to increasingly relish the moments we share in our little piece of Heaven — the haven of peace within you. This is a small foretaste of the unspeakable feelings of bliss and elation you will get to experience once we reach our coveted Paradise destination.
“Dear ones, use each day as yet another opportunity to fine tune your being so that it can be receptive to the many gifts that Spirit will deliver to you — one by one — as you manifest the ability to appreciate them and multiply them. You are so blessed and yet so few among you live with this awareness and fail to actively express their gratitude to the Giver. You are children of promise—the promise the Father made to you that you will one day stand in His Presence on Paradise. You won’t be magically teleported there. Rather, you will get there on your own merits as you undergo your metamorphosis from a mere animal-origin human being to a godlike personality who has fully transcended its animal nature.”

Thought Adjuster: “Each one of you is free to choose the life you want to live. The only commandment is to be perfect as your Father is heaven is perfect. Beyond that, the possibilities and choices available to a human being are practically infinite. However, those who choose to live the will of the Father are in fact choosing a stimulating and plentiful life, full of opportunities for growth and progress, because the plan of the Father is a program of study designed to help you become more perfect each day.
“Those who start to discover the hidden potential within begin to feel the inspiration to explore certain tasks that are adequate to each individual’s personality and talents. It is possible that you start to think about trying something you have never been exposed to in the past, something for which you may need to prepare investing a lot of commitment and time, but sooner or later your talent for this task will become evident.
“Human beings somehow have a confused idea about talent. A person is considered talented when she can accomplish certain task with great ease, without requiring a lot of instruction. Examples are those ‘virtuosi’ that can play and compose beautiful melodies with minimal musical instruction. But is the person who practices for a decade or more in order to reach the same level less talented? Time is not a factor for human talent nor is the place where you start. The important thing is where you end up and the achievements your effort and your consistency produce.
“Do not consider as a waste the time invested in exploring those things your feel inspired to engage in. Maybe because of your current job, or your present duties, you can only allocate a few minutes every few days to a task of self-exploration and growth, but every effort towards the attainment of perfection always produces results and every little step you take with the intent of living the will of your Father will bring you closer to your destiny.”
