Subject: “Unsettled Times.”

The Scribe: “You may call me the Damascus Scribe or you may call me Sananda, I don’t mind which, as long as you call me your Friend. There are things for us to discus, words for you to record and you know that whilst your Midwayer co-workers are elsewhere and otherwise gainfully employed, I like for you to go deep and take your time in doing so. It is pure fallacy to contend that having me wait even a few seconds or minutes is a waste of my precious time.
“So, count yourself down in the usual way, take as long as you like and then formulate your questions in your mind. There is a tendency for one to become lackadaisical, even slapdash about operational procedure and on occasions make a royal mess of a job. Begin now.”
George (minutes later): “OK, I think I’m there now.”
The Scribe: “As an intelligent lifeform on a terrestrial plane you must find it almost impossible to create the things you need without the use of tools and without producing waste materials. It is difficult to make clothing without first using a pair of scissors to cut the cloth. Having done the cutting, you are left with the raw usable pieces and the waste material. You are now beginning to comprehend where I am going with all this, I note. However, there is more.
“If you were to build a house from the ground up, you would be left with usable steel, timber, glass, bricks, insulation material and much, much more, all to keep for future works. There would also be tiny offcuts of wood and sawdust, broken bricks and brickdust, glass shards and broken roof tiles . . . all kinds of stuff.
“As well, it takes a special crew to clean up around the home, lay the paths, establish the garden and do it all in a professional way. In time it will become hard to remember ‘what all work’ was done until the project was completed. Quite soon regular maintenance cuts in.
“So it is in the nearby dimensions and so it is in all facets of the Borderland. Urantia (Gaia) has announced She will need your services and once again some of you have become that special crew, that clean-up crew to help bring Her house in order. You have answered Her call and you are referring all those to be kept safe to reach up to the Light and you are also dissolving ‘the offcuts, and sawdust, the broken bricks and brickdust, the glass shards and broken roof tiles’ of Urantia’s long neglected Borderland.
“These are unsettled times, yes, an era of awakening, for your Time of a long-awaited Correction has moved a little closer to its point of no return, a little closer to that tipping point where the future of Light and Life for Urantia will still be quite far off . . . but guaranteed at last.
“All those on High are extremely proud of you, as Am I. I am the Damascus Scribe. Do always count on me, My partners in progress, as I count on you all.”

Subject: “These Challenges are not Punishments.”

Teacher Ophelius: “Many of you (light workers) are being challenged now, and for some, it has been like a dark night of the soul, which seems to have lasted for more than a fortnight. Just when you think all hope is lost, morning finally dawns. For if you can stay the course, asking for help and diligently searching for the answers, you shall find them and come out the other side wiser and stronger. These challenges are not punishments, or tests of your faith, yet they are something you need to deal with as you begin your ascent — entering a new paradigm of spiritual development. Many of your beliefs have been shattered, and the old scaffolding has fallen away leaving you open for greater truths and opportunities which shall lead you to greater service in the Correcting Time.
“As you look back on these challenging times, you shall see how the hand of providence has mysteriously worked in your life and, how were it not for these ‘unfortunate’ events and circumstances you would not be in a position to help others and grow into the beautiful bright lights you now are. Your Indwelling Spirit is still guiding the ship and you are still the captain in charge of your life sailing toward the light of perfection. Captains make decisions and you must decide how you want your life to play out. Do not let your boat be tossed around by the waves — steer into them and cut through the wake!
“You all look as if you need a vacation! Many of you are so busy helping others that you have neglected to maintain your own wellbeing. Take some time and be good to ‘you.’ When you are feeling well and strong, you can better serve others. Be joyful today, my dear friends. Listen to music, eat well, take time to smell the roses and rejoice! There will be other challenges ahead, and so, for now, take a well-deserved break and recharge your batteries for the journey ahead.
“You shall find that as each new challenge comes, you shall handle it with more grace and spiritual maturity. You are growing wiser and becoming more like your Heavenly Father. Keeping your mind fixed on a greater, brighter future, having the assurance that you are a very powerful being because you have sonship with the Father, you are putting the wheels of the universe to work for you and stepping into your god given inheritance as a developing Finaliter.
“Finaliters are powerful beings that have achieved and overcome the challenges of time and have answered the call of the Universal Father to ‘Be perfect, as I AM perfect.’ Spiritual maturity is ‘final’ and all trust is placed in the hands of a Finaliter to know and execute Father’s perfect Will. With this trust is great power awarded as the divine gift of spiritual maturity and wise choosing. Keep your minds fixed on this sublime achievement as you hurdle over the challenges of planetary life, for within you lives the Fragment of all the creative power in the multi-verse.

“In physical life the senses tell of the existence of things; mind discovers the reality of meanings; but the spiritual experience reveals to the individuals the true values of life.” UB Paper 100, section 4 – Problems of Growth]
Monjoronson: “Dear child, you have been pondering the differences between significations and values. One more time — as always — Love is the answer. Why is it so? Love is the divine creative motivation. It is organically connected to the highest Values of Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Indeed, Love is truthful. It has to be authentic in order to touch hearts and deflect their resistance that is based on their intrinsic vulnerability. Only genuine Love will move you at a very deep level — something that a mere profession (claim) of love cannot do.
“Love also embodies Goodness as it only wishes for the welfare of others, without holding back, without any reservations and disclaimers. Such a Love is absolutely safe and it is what every soul longs for, as each soul has been created to thrive on Love. Anyone who grows up without Love is stunted in heart growth.
“Love is beautiful. You can witness it by seeing the glow manifested in the features of individuals who are ‘in love’ or in the face of an expecting mother who has already deeply bonded with the life she carries, thus providing it with a love cocoon that adds another protective layer to the safety of her womb.
“This is the reason why such values are experiential. You can dissert about Love, but it won’t bring you any closer to its experience. Love HAS TO BE FELT in order to be transformative. Once it freely accesses your being and flows through it, Love raises your vibrations and the overall quality of your life. It is what instills Love with vibrancy.
“You may ‘like’ things and enjoy them for a while. Yet, they will never bring you the soul satisfaction and the precious values that Love brings into your life. Truth, Beauty and Goodness are lovable. The only way to connect with them is through the gate of your heart.
“Dear ones, strive each day to search for these values that are embedded in All That Is. Strip them from the accumulated dirt of spiritual pollutants that prevent them from shining their light. Promote them through your lifestyle. Become their advocate! By campaigning for them, you will beautify your world and upgrade the quality of your human experience.”

Subject: “A Lesson on God’s Will.”

The Beloved One: “The doing of God’s Will has been greatly misunderstood during the past ages. God’s Will simply means walking the way with the most love and respect for all, which is living the golden rule by doing unto others as you yourself, would like to be treated. It simply means the subduing and overcoming of the baser instincts and urges through self-discipline towards self-mastery. This is not an easy path, but it builds a strong character which can withstand temptations and is not easily swayed by the false sophistries of others. It is not always easy for humans to know what the Will of God is, because mortals generally think that the doing of God’s Will means to sacrifice all things that give them pleasure. This is an erroneous thought.
“Study the life and teachings of Jesus in the Urantia Book and search out the truth about how he lived his life. The Bible has been a wonderful record to date but gives only a very meager account of his life and teachings. Your souls will be enormously enriched by enlightening yourselves about the Man Jesus. Find out how he actually lived his life even as a child and young adult having to make difficult decisions whilst endeavoring to do God’s will and personify his Father’s love for every man, woman and child. Jesus lived an exemplary life on earth by living this golden rule as a human being through training himself to become more conscious as a man of the realm by doing the Will of his Father in Heaven. He exhorted his followers to ‘love one another.’
“This golden rule is to be found in all religions, but has never seriously been practiced to the fullest extent possible. Wars have not ceased. Even among families and neighbors, this blight carries on, for the cave-mentality has not been subdued and overcome, as the greed motive and material tendencies have outstripped and replaced religion and its practice.
“Over years past, too little attention has been given to the cultivation and training of true character building, as the majority of humans live their lives from day to day and do not pay attention to the Still Small Voice of God within them. Lip-service is often enough when people dutifully trot off to their churches, synagogues, mosques, tabernacles or other temples of worship, to pay their penance and dues and think that this is enough and all is just fine in their world. Meanwhile they don’t search within their selves seeking for God and the meaning and purpose of life, because it is easier to have others do their thinking for them, being deluded that those are supposedly better educated.
“The Correcting Time has come to teach that you are all responsible for your own thoughts and actions. Therefore you can ask your Thought Adjuster at your Inner Center through meditation and prayer what God’s will is and how to surrender your self-will. The time is at hand to make those life-changing decisions. Will it be a path filled with love and goodwill towards all others so the benign virus of love has a chance to spread all over the planet?
“This decision will be asked of all humans born on all the worlds of space who have elected and chosen to obey God’s only command to become perfect.
“The myriad planetary systems were all made to eventually be inhabited by many different types of intelligent creatures, beings who could know God, receive the divine affection, and love him in return.”

Subject: “The Elements of Stability.”

Prolotheos: “On the evolving worlds of the universes of time and space, there is a stage when these worlds reach physical, social and spiritual stability called ‘an Era of Light and Life.’ When these worlds gain this desirable stage they are able to sustain that stability for a long, long time until their systems, constellations, local universes, the super-universe (never reached yet) and finally the whole grand universe reach this stability concomitant with the complete personalization of the Supreme Being, installing the Age of Supremacy in the seven universes. Evolution constantly reaches out for stability, not only about the macro-cosmos but in all dimensions, even in the dimension of human life. Here are some elements to achieve human stability.
“Conservation — Stability presupposes a level of conservation as opposed to destruction. The successes of a stage become the foundation to the following and so forth. Evil does not conserve: on the contrary, evil is destructive, because evil has nothing in itself that is permanent. Permanence is predicated on goodness, truth and beauty. As these values are progressively conserved in human existence, stability establishes itself and remains for ages and ages. In your world, the main factor that prevents stability is wars’ proliferation, still carried out in many places on Urantia. Only the growth of a cosmic conscience on Urantia can bring stability, with the appearance of the Brotherhood of Man and Women based on the Fatherhood of God.
“Control — stability does not mean stagnation, it means security in midst of change. That is what is called ‘progress.’ Technique, the practice of controlling knowledge is the mother of Technology. Technology is advanced by the control of physical conditions in space and time. The levels of control are physical, mental and spiritual. Mind is able to control physical realities, and the spirit should guide mind by spiritual values. Real control is not about controlling others; rather, it is controlling oneself. Physical control should liberate man to achieve personal and spiritual control. When personal control is achieved in human existence, one experiences that desirable state often called ‘Peace,’ which reflects itself both in social and spiritual dimensions.
“Continuation — Stability needs to be secured with measures that make its continuation possible through time. Maintenance of stability basically depends on the continuation of those factors that make stability a reality. Maintenance has mostly to do with the administration of problems. That means that problems need to be foreseen, expected and solved. Foreseeing problems is crucial to prevent them; expectation of problems is not negativism but acknowledging the law of wear and consumption of energy bringing consequent disruption. Problems need to be faced with creative and alternative thinking and solutions. Sometimes large structural changes are necessary to make sure stability will continue. Human beings must not be afraid of thinking ‘bigger and better’ at each turn of their existence.
"In this way, my pupil, stability many times starts in your personal life with something you have experienced: conversion, new birth or a complete change in life that will determine the remainder of your existence. Urantia, your world, is in need of such a change to reach social and spiritual stability. Indeed, many times such changes come out of intense disruption of the status quo, but at other times it gradually emerges from slow cosmic growth. Either way, when stability is in sight, man should grab it and keep it as essential for achieving the so-much dreamed-of ‘Peace.’ Thus, I, Prolotheos, your tutor and teacher on High, wish for you personally and for Urantia, your world, this desired stability, saying: ‘Peace be with you both.’
