Subject: “Vulnerability — The Condition for Attraction”

Ophelius: “Today I would like to speak about what it means to be ‘vulnerable.’ The context for which I speak of is the vulnerability of the heart. All meaningful and lasting relationships are formed when the heart is in this condition. Only when the heart is open, trusting and willing to be tested can a spiritual connection be formed and bonded. Relationships are spiritual by nature, and it can be no other way, for it was created this way and is a part of the mechanics of life in the universes. Vulnerability, therefore, is the condition of the heart that attracts the connection.

“There are many of you who are ‘walking wounded’ for having once left your heart open and vulnerable to another only to become hurt, disappointed and disillusioned by the reality that love means something very different from one heart to another. From that painful lesson, you put up walls and fortresses around the heart to protect it from the pain of rejection and in doing so, your future relationships suffer by keeping all others at a distance.

There is a saying on your world, ‘It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.’ There is much truth in this statement because there is eternal value in the ‘love’ and also is there value in the lesson of love lost. It is in the loss that you can find the understanding that love is not universally understood and that there are many layers that shroud its more pure form. It makes sense then to seek for it again in a more pure form or at least in a form that is closer to your own understanding of love. Yet, love can never be understood in a more pure form unless the heart is again made vulnerable where it can attract a more mirror-like connection.

“Salvation is nothing more than opening the heart in trust and faith to God and allowing yourself to be vulnerable by peeling away the protective layers that you have built up along the journey of your life. Think about those lifelong friendships you have — Do they not have a high degree of trust? These are friends you can talk to about anything without fear of judgment or rejection. Why is that? It is because the connection you have is bi-directional, open and trusting and it is very vulnerable because the loss of a friendship like this would be emotionally devastating. A trusting relationship like this has fewer layers that divide it and so the understanding of love between the two is more agreeable — there is greater synchrony.

“The more spiritual growth there is, the greater is your understanding of love — for they are one and the same — The more you love, the more you grow, for this is a part of your purpose in life — to learn how to love. Learning how to love brings you in greater synchrony with God’s pure and unconditional love. Ascension therefore, is the journey to become perfect and god-like and it can only be achieved by your ability to learn how to love as God loves. This requires vulnerability of the heart, my friends. Without it, your relationships remain on the surface — they are illusions. To love with a pure and open heart is to be ‘real,’ and only those things that are ‘real’ go with you into eternity.

Subject: “Thrown Off the Deep End” — Part Two.

Teacher Samuel: “It’s good to have a break, to spend some time in total silence, quite alone and as if in a dark forest or on a deserted beach. We follow on now from our earlier talk about life on an evolutionary planet, in your case a decimal planet, a rebellious one as well as the very planet on which our Michael completed his last bestowal. On top of all that, your home planet is often referred to as an irregular planet. What does it mean for the planet to be irregular?

“It means that your planet has not progressed in the normal way. In straight language it states that the planet is abnormal. And in many places it means that its citizens’ behavior — whilst it may be classed as normal — is in fact quite over the top. Yes, you might call it that. Your countless generations of humans and Angels having lived through the Lucifer rebellion, the Caligastia betrayal and the Adamic default are still recuperating, needing more time to shake off an insane past. Will you give yourself the time to escape or actually face this lunacy?

“You are left with many races, some pure, some blended and with little evidence of the Adamite to be discovered, but are you seeing all as your brothers and sisters and as equal in your eyes as in the eyes of God? As the years go by, more and more of you are meant to accept others as they are, not as you would prefer them to be. Open your eyes, your ears, your hearts and learn to understand them. Once you understand their ways you will admire them. Once you see what they are about you will respect them.

“Soon you will not be far away from loving them, because whatever race or color they are, they want happiness, a place to live, a job to do, a family to feed and educate. You will see them just the way you are. You will see them to be your siblings in every way. It will take time but you can do it. At such a time or even before, you will inaugurate a ‘new deal’ for your planet by respecting her more, by tending to her needs, her flora and fauna and by vastly reducing your greed-stoked digging, your insatiable burrowing and voracious tunneling.

“Yes, we speak of your most ravenous mining efforts that so maim your world. We address you about what you take from the ground, refine and bury back under the ground in your vaults.

“An unwelcome crisis will come, make no mistake, yet beyond its time you will organize yourself to with great care select those who must lead you. Essential to this exercise will be the accurate recording of your past, a cessation of your falsifying and re-inventing historical records. Fear not a downturn, for good times will follow.

“It will surely be of my personal delight to in time discover that Urantia was progressing as did the Panoptian world of my years. This is Samuel. Aaron and I send you our love.”

Subject: “A Mortal Like You”

Thought Adjuster: “Do you realize that the Ruler of this universe was once a mortal just like you? He had the same capacities and the same mind that all humans on Urantia possess. He did not have any advantages over others, besides Him growing up in a loving family and enjoying good health.

“As you consider the way in which the Master lived his life and the way in which He related to His peers, always remember two things: Firstly, very early in His life He learned to have absolute trust in the care of His Father in Heaven and secondly, he also developed a great trust in human beings — in their potential for greatness and nobility and in the innate goodness of people.

“For this reason it shouldn’t be said that He endured the offences, the mistreatment and the chagrin that others caused Him with stoicism or fortitude. For Him, everything negative He received from anybody was only the result of spiritual immaturity in that person. Those boys who took advantage of His reticence to defend Himself when attacked, never really bothered Him, because He knew well that someday they would grow up and they would discover a better path.

“Even those who conspired to cause His death and the one who betrayed Him did not suffer any reprisals. He always did all within His power to elevate their spiritual conscience through His words, His actions, and His love for them. He didn’t endure suffering and punishment as did a strong man supported by physical and mental strength. All these things that could be thought of as damaging or evil were for Him just the actions of souls that didn’t know any better, but would behave differently and would even achieve great things under different circumstances and in a more appropriate environment.

“His strength was not in His will, but in His trust in His Father. He knew without a doubt that nothing could really happen to Him. He always knew that His life was in the hands of God and that this life was eternal. You also enjoy this knowledge and if you have chosen to try to be better — to strive to be the best you can aspire to be and find the purpose of your life — your life is guaranteed for eternity.

“Only those who have dealt with small children — particularly fathers and mothers — can understand a little of the way in which the Master regarded His brothers and sisters of this world who attacked Him or bothered Him during various episodes in His human life. Nobody would consider as evil the misunderstandings of a small child. Everyone knows that little children still don’t know a lot of things and make many mistakes they will not make again after they have grown. Accept that all on this world are small spiritual children, barely starting their journey towards the maturity of perfection. Love each other and help each other in your journey toward your eventual perfection, to together overcome the errors and the difficulties along the way.”

Teacher Samuel: “My dear students, this is your 11:11 Progress Group Teacher Samuel. I add somewhat in haste that you are hardly a group such as those who come together at predetermined times and in regular surrounds. As in perusing our lessons — our teachings such as we can reach you with — we indeed are a group including all helpers up and down the line, yes, also counting the perfect Thought Adjusters of the Father’s Will and Plans in progress.

“Today, and by request, we are discussing some difficulties that are inherent in life on an evolutionary planet. There are the masters you must serve; three of them all up, I might suggest. There is the self with both present and future needs to consider, for if not, would you be able to care for anyone else? Next there are those to whom to a greater or lesser degree you are responsible — children, spouse, other dependents and employees, perhaps. Lastly there is your Gift from God, your Thought Adjuster, and His/Her promise of eternal life.

“We concur with you, and to rather an exceptional degree, that being born as a human, even ‘thrust’ upon your earth as a Guardian Angel, God bless you all, can resemble being mercilessly thrown off the deep end. At times this may well seem to have been from a great, great height into the deepest, coldest pool. In comparison to your lot, both Angels and humans fared better on average on the largest land masses of Panoptia and in my time, would you think? Not quite so, my dear friends.

“Panoptians of my time, in any of the later millenia after the (Lucifer) Rebellion, containing much of the ‘blood’ of their Adamic ancestors, lived extraordinarily long lives. And in those long lives much was expected of us, although we could grow rather tired. In contrast, much of your mischief is overlooked since you have remained quite arrested due to the little of violet blood afforded you. However, there is a great deal more intelligence, motivation and capacity within you if only you would love and appreciate yourself more.

“Right now you are in a critical time on your planet. As a civilization, your morals are becoming more and more questionable. Too many of you are isolating yourself in a pursuit that is of little eternally-enduring value. A great percentage of you are kept alive by depending on your government for hand-outs. On Panoptia, one employed oneself, or one worked for local or planetary governments by default. Such — being employed by one’s government — was likely to occur more than just once in one’s lifetime and it caused us to vote into power those who were true contributors, indeed, mostly women, mothers and our organizers supreme.

“Your Chief and Planetary Prince, Machiventa Melchizedek, long ago warned you of difficult, yes, critical times to come. These times are approaching, so be as ready for them as you can be and above all see to it that you appoint the honest, reliable, caring and talented to lead you as a nation, province, state or city. It won’t do to appoint the least evil of the evil ones making themselves available.

“This is Samuel of Panoptia thanking you Midwayers, Angels and human students. There will be more on this subject. We leave you now, but we leave you our love.”
