Andrea: “Consider now that if you needed to read all the news of the world during each day, there would need to be many of you, each reading a part of the total. You would soon lose ‘your famous storyline’ if you were doing it all by yourself. It would be too much, for too much is happening. So, what makes you think that a few pages in your text (the Urantia book) explain the life of Van and his trusted brother, Amadon? Their prolonged stay (some 150,000 years) is an enormous chapter in the annals of our troubled world.
“Their days are all recorded. The minutes of their meetings will all be available to you, written up by Jerusem administrators, and you will be able to acquaint yourself with either the long version, or just the highlights, or any version of varied length in between. Beyond what you learn about resolve on this world, Van and Amadon will teach you absolute determination. They persisted for 150 millennia by the grace of the fruits and leaves of the tree of life. And they did so despite frequent physical dangers of many kinds surrounding them.
“Consider here the adventures of Adamson, Ratta, and their offspring. It is easy to forget that there were fifty-one normal children as well as the sixteen supernatural ones which gave birth to the 1984 Urantia Secondary Midwayers. The fifty-one and their descendants for countless generations played an important part in the emancipation of tribes into nations to the north near the Caspian Sea and beyond, to the west – directly west and down to Egypt – and to the south-east as far away as India and the mostly fertile lands of the Punjab.
“Where these individual Andite troops and tribes chose to move, very much depended on how they saw and described their selves. Those who related more to their Adamic ancestor in both looks and behavior tended to move north or west. They were long-lived, so consider this, and their mission to populate the earth. Improving the races with their superior bloodline was hardly a secret to anyone. They had many offspring, and the tale of their ancestors, Adam and Eve, and the Garden of Eden was kept alive all throughout, until modern times.
“Those Andite tribes who tended to be somewhat darker of skin and hair related more to the Nodite side of the family. Their grandmother, Ratta, was seen as royalty, a descendant of those who were ‘the gift from the sky of long ago’. These southern Andites found their homes more often among those living in the Punjab and did much to up-step the races there. Even today it is a matter of great pride for some to claim to be a descendant of a tribe of Ratta, and this continues to be seen as more important than being of the Adamic connection.

Thought Adjuster: “The Father does not place any restrictions on what you can do with your life. You are free to live your life whichever way you deem to be appropriate, and whatever you do to make a living is up to you. However, the Father is pleased when His children surrender voluntarily to His will and stop being an obstacle to His divine plan for leading them to perfection. The Father always works for His children, for their benefit and for their progress, but this labor becomes so much easier and effective when the children voluntarily decide to cooperate.
“If you have a good idea and you believe it can be helpful to you, and others, by all means explore it and try to make it a reality. As long as you stay tuned to the love of the Father, all your plans will be supported. This doesn’t mean that everything you do will turn out fine or will be successful. The formula for success is well known in your world, being 99 percent hard work and 1 percent luck. Hard work becomes much lighter for those who are inspired to achieve something true, beautiful and good, since they receive encouragement from the Father at each step on the way. And about that 1 percent: It is not really randomness, but the complex social, human and commercial relationships created by you, which makes outcomes hard to predict.
“Many ideas may show up in your mind, even during meditation. This doesn’t mean they are of divine origin. Remember, everything that comes from the Father has three attributes – truth, beauty and goodness. It is good in life to create projects and strive to make them succeed. There are a lot of opportunities for learning in these endeavors. Don’t let your life go by idly waiting for someone to tell you what to do. Human beings must learn to travel their own paths.
“The road to reach the Father is indeed a long one. The only way by which to move forward is to keep walking. If you sit on the side of the road to ponder what you might find ahead, the only thing you are actually doing is stopping your progress. You can’t know what you will find around the corner. Cross the bridges when you reach them. Move ahead with courage, with joy, and with a spirit of exploration. The opportunities and the talents have been put there so they can be used by you.”

Subject: “Fulfilling the Needs of the Soul.”

Ophelius: “Today we would like to talk about needs, and how they relate to spiritual growth and to the wellbeing of your physiology. There often is confusion in knowing the difference between wants and needs, and it is important to understand and to fulfill certain needs to live a healthy happy life. Many of you struggle with the emotions of dealing with unfulfilled lives because of the circumstances of your current life station or your perceived lack of opportunity. There is much that you can do to bring balance and joy into your life by identifying real needs and prioritizing healthy desires.
“Basic needs are things that are necessary for life, such as healthy food, clean water, and shelter from environment. Without these basic needs, physical life is not possible. To be whole, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, there are vital needs that should be met. All sentient beings need to be loved and to express love – companionship – friends, lovers, family – God. When these needs are not met, the individual is not whole or healthy, and there are many on your world in need of love, my friends. The greed of the profit driven world has indentured many of you to live lives dedicated to fulfilling basic needs (food, water, shelter), while leaving little opportunity or time for the pursuit of the things that make you whole (to love and to be loved).
“Those who are spiritually aware (God knowing) are fulfilling the need to love and to be loved at the soul level, while those who are spiritually unconscious seek this same soul need but often substitute this need with material pursuits, unhealthy relationships, or destructive vices. All roads lead to Source, my friends, and even if you take the wrong road, or keep turning away from it, sooner or later, all those left turns in life will bring you back to Source – the wellspring of all love in the universes.
“If you are searching for that which makes you whole – to love and to be loved – go to the Source of love, my friends, and ask for what you need. If it is a companion, a friend, a lover, a kindred spirit, or that personal relationship with deity, make that desire known to God, and in faith, believe that your healthy needs will be met. It is the intention and desire of the Creator that you have these needs met and it is His priority to lead you down the path to know love and to seek light.
“Therefore, if all your efforts and methods for finding love have failed, try going into your room and close the door, open your soul to the Father of love and sincerely ask for that love to come into your life. This is one request that is sure to be answered, because it is a soul sustaining need and because He loves you unconditionally. He knows that however you find love, share love, and receive love, that love is the highway that leads to eternal life – even for the spiritually disconnected individual who only experiences love through another person, that same love is coming from Source through them and through those they love. Somewhere in time and eternity, love will lead you home. ‘Ask and you shall receive.’

The Beloved One: “I note that you are surprised by my planning to speak about this subject. It is just a little surprise I like to spring on you from time to time, just for you to learn of the depth of your listening skills. I am happy to report that your inward listening skills are improving. I added the word ‘inward’, it being the most important part. It is from within that true guidance comes, never to steer you in the wrong direction.
“Even by listening within, you have been most surprised as so often your carefully laid plans for the day suddenly took a totally different turn. It left you baffled, and at the same time delightfully surprised, as you, by listening within, allowed the God of your being, to reorganize your day for you.
“And so it shall be with all of my children who elect more seriously to listen within, and to be ready for whatever insights they might obtain, or whichever needed lesson they might learn for just that moment in time. And so, opportunities arise which might otherwise not have had their day. By being ready for unexpected things, spontaneity has a chance to function under heavenly guidance and situations can and do arise where you can do the greatest good just by being in the right place at the right time. This is guidance at its best.
“This is how the universal Creator can fulfill His divine plan hidden in each one of you. These for-now-hidden gifts can already have their chances to develop during mortal life, but only through the readiness of the recipient. On the one hand everyone is saddled with aspects of mediocrity, but on the other hand genius is self-created. It always depends on the readiness of the mortal.
“This is why I repeated: ‘Are you ready?’ For in your readiness you show me that you are willing to delve deeper into your potentials and I reiterate that age makes no difference. Awakening to a higher level of existence can happen at either a very early age or any later time during life, even at a much advantaged age in mortal life. Time is totally immaterial to the eternal Creator God.
“It is always the now moment that counts. Therefore, it behooves you to always be ready for the unexpected moments in life. Be on the look-out for opportunities to be of service to the eternal One. He gave you this precious life with its many opportunities to grow and advance your soul by living life in truth, beauty and goodness, all the while becoming increasingly conscious about from whence all blessings flow. In this way your readiness will increase to be in service to the One, in praise, love and gratitude for all blessed opportunities to become an immortal being, which is the very purpose of life.”

Thought Adjuster: “Many of you have felt what the Celestial Teachers feel when a thirsty soul searches for a drink of the water of life. When you participate in the task of helping in the salvation of a soul you are indeed working for the Father.
“Remember what is written in you book – when a truth searcher and a truth giver find each other, the necessary personal influence arises in order to perform a transformation. When you express the love of the Father through your being, you are also improving your perception and understanding of this love. Not many mortals get to experience this, but such joy is available to all.
“These are the rewards for those who choose to do the will of the Father and live the life He has prepared for His children. What was earlier considered a sacrifice now turns into lessons to be learned, and exercises to strengthen the muscles of faith, because with true love there will never be sacrifices. Human parents know first hand that all the efforts they make for their children can be a source of joy and satisfaction when they are inspired by sincere love. Let love be your main motivator and you will start to reap the results of your efforts, so the successes of today will be the rewards for the efforts of yesterday, and the inspiration for the achievements of tomorrow.
“Thus it has always been. When a creature invests just a little effort and faith, the love of the Father overcomes all barriers and fills his or her heart. From that moment the creature, now encouraged and inspired, finds the necessary energy to move forward with increased ease on their adventure of spiritual growth.”
