Subject: “Eugenic Procreation.”

Orion: “Procreation is highly thought of in human society, and motherhood on Urantia is ‘by all means’ sacred. The reason for this is the mystery by which the reproduction process long appeared enshrouded to the mind of primitive man. Giving birth was seen as a miracle – a deed by the Gods. As a result, reproduction is generally held in high regard by all peoples of Urantia, whilst in fact, reproduction is a biological event present in all living beings on your world, and there is nothing supernatural about its purpose, per se. Simply put, to serve the evolutionary process this is how life was conceived on Urantia. In time, as civilization and its culture evolve on your world, reproduction will mostly be seen as a procreative function of the human species, rather than an extra-ordinary process, and it will have less of an emotional meaning attached to it. Indeed, procreation will always be valued, but in the future it will mostly be seen as a means to improve your best human strains for the betterment of the human race as a whole, through the increasing knowledge you are now acquiring about genetic manipulation.
“The embryonic form of this realization is already present in the most advanced societies on Urantia, as many already understand that procreation and parenthood are, in fact two different things. Adoption and alternative fertilization has given many people the opportunity to be parents without being the conceivers/reproducers. Today’s procreation process has already been manipulated to provide the otherwise impossibility of parenthood. In your future, it will be manipulated to improve the racial human stocks, as already postulated by your budding eugenics of today. It is not an easy road to travel, and you will live with the increasing impoverishment of your good strains for some time yet, before they can begin to be improved by science. Even a possible second racial uplifting from stocks outside-Urantia may be possible.
“As your knowledge of the fifth revelation records will increasingly be taken seriously by opinion-shapers on your world, the more you can learn from insights therein on how to preserve and improve your best human strains by simply controlling reproduction of classified stocks. There you can also find specific intimations that Science can greatly increase the physical, the senses of vision, and hearing. Genetics, although crudely so, is already modifying your crops. One day, when better understood, it will safely improve your generations to come. All this will certainly meet with resistance of some anti-science religionists, but increasingly scientific progress on your world will drag such old-fashioned-thinkers towards a future in which they will remain a forlorn minority.
“In your advanced societies you have increasingly enjoyed longer lifetimes, through the adoption of preventive measures against diseases, global vaccinations, sanitation of the environment and advances in medicine. These improvements are the signs of ‘the golden age’ announced in your olden records of a world in which someone who dies at 100 years of age will be considered to still be young. Progress will become easier if your religionists especially allow themselves to be more open to the achievements of true science. Science and Religion deal with different dimensions of reality, the former with its physical laws, and the latter with its spiritual laws. Both must keep their independence, so they can benefit civilization as a whole. I am a Life-Carrier, therefore largely more interested in the progress of both your biological and cultural evolution. Hopefully you will not destroy yourselves with your endless wars. Peace be with you.”

“Momentary Eternity”
Something long ago forgotten

It was a relatively warm winter’s afternoon in late June of 1995. Robert Harrison, Chester Newland and William Forester, three mature-age university students, were catching the last of the sun’s warm rays on the steps of dormitory block B.
I was late for supper, scurrying towards the mess hall when one of them said, “Hey guru George, give us your definition of eternity.”
I disliked being called a guru, but that was their idea of what ‘a clinical hypnotherapist doing more psych in college’ was all about.
I stopped and explained to them the nature of eternity and how from eternity time space arrived – words along those lines. They sat there on those steps, mouths open, eyebrows raised in disbelief, but I was surely more surprised about what had come out of my mouth than they were.
My words had been most explicit and utterly soul-felt.
There was only a icy cold ‘though better than nothing’ apple pie left in the mess hall, but when I got back to block B, just minutes later, Chester Newland had left. Only Robert and William were still sitting on the steps sharing a last cigarette.
They stopped me again, wishing for me to repeat my answer to their question about eternity, for it was gone from their minds.
Well! Neither could I remember those exquisite phrases out of thin air, so I pointed at the sky and told them it had all been sent to my brain and mind from way, way up there.
And until last night, the memory of the event was gone as well.

Thought Adjuster: “To you, the subject of my future personalizing, our eternal life for us both to be enjoyed, and our prospective oneness, this communication of importance. Well might you question if there was any reason at all for the four of you to understand, if even for a moment in time, the concept of eternity. There is no great prize for guessing that for one of the people at that short meeting the entire effort was a waste of time. However, even in the spiritual realm where a wasted effort can be foreseen by me, the ‘doing of the right thing’ must be observed, even by Thought Adjusters.
“The aim of the exercise was not for you to fully understand the concept of eternity. It was not meant for your friends to understand the concept of eternity. Such is presently, and possibly for a long time to come, an impossibility in respect of the mind endowments any of you can support. What happened there on that afternoon was an opportunity for me to get them thinking about their eternal lives. Only through the cooperation of their own Thought Adjusters were they capable of momentarily comprehending -- mind you I did not say understanding -- the reality of eternity. Indeed, just for a time.

Thought Adjuster: “All human beings are capable of determining the degree of their personal spiritual progress. None of you need to be subjected to the uncertainty of not knowing how much you have mastered the art of living in this world trying to be increasingly perfect. To know with certainty how much you have advanced in your attempts to comprehend the Father and live His will you can just look at the degree in which you have learned to sincerely love your peers.
Love is the law of the Father and when His children have learned to express this love – even if imperfectly at the beginning – they are moving closer to the nature of God. The more you love your peers and the more sincere your devotion to them, the closer you are to being like the Father, who loves all without conditions and in an immutable fashion.
The sincere love of a mortal for her peers becomes evident when a person wants for all the same opportunities, the same advantages, and the same satisfactions that she has experienced. You are accustomed to the external manifestations of human love. Divine love does not rely on appearances. It must be an expression of the highest wisdom of a human being, which aspires to be divine as the wisdom of the Father.
You can observe in your world the manifestations of material love, but only spiritual love will motivate you to be better and to achieve your eternal goals. If somebody loves you with material love he or she may solve your temporal problems. But when you are loved with a love filled with spiritual wisdom, you receive everything you need to solve your own problems, thus, achieving a higher understanding of your own being and preparing to live happier and freer in the future.
The love of the Father is filled with wisdom and He wishes that you become able to love each other. Do not be deceived by the appearances of material love. strive to understand divine love and it will spontaneously arise in your heart and will extend to others. This is true love, with the potential to change your world and your civilization. It is a love that does not try to control but is given with total freedom, and this way it exerts a more powerful influence.
Understand how the love of the Father works in this world. Even when the Father cannot literally carry you in His arms, you can certainly experience His embrace, his compassionate understanding, and his dynamic and enlivening inspiration, because the power of His creative intent is directed towards the happiness of all His creatures – His beloved children in all creation.”

The Beloved: “Be and live in Joy.
It really is not necessary to be worrying all the time. Actually, worrying gets you nowhere. It is the glad and joyful heart that more easily connects with Me because it has become more peaceful by growing in faith and trust.
This is the ideal we together strive towards, because the elimination of inner stress and anxiety will immediately affect all the body cells, which can then unfurl and set themselves to the task of replicating in the manner they are programmed to, giving you a healthier body-temple to work with.
When unhindered, the body can do its own healing work. This frees up the mind for a more important task, which is to grow a little closer to spirit each day.
Life is not meant to just be a journey of the flesh and its pleasure-seeking ways. No, life is meant to be lived to discover the living Spirit of the eternal Creator within, and to develop inner ears that listen to His guidance.
How can you learn when everything is cluttered with pain, worries, frets, and disappointment, not to mention anger, resentment and all other spirit poisons?
Strive each day to make time to come into the Stillness and listen to My still Voice within, as I reside in each thinking mortal. Keep in mind that you are in kindergarten on this planet, and a more excellent education is awaiting you on the next level of existence – the morontia spheres.
I am your Friend, so be My friend, and spend time with Me. It will be the best time you will ever set aside in your busy Life.”

Thought Adjuster: “You were conceived by divine forethought. Ponder it for a moment, as it will tremendously expand your sense of self-worth. The union between the divine Heart and the divine Mind conceives All-That-Is in the ever-expanding chamber of infinity and eternity. It is where your being’s matrix of perfection was formulated and your eternal destiny was set into motion to nudge toward your godlikeness.
The mind is very mysterious to you, sentient and thinking beings. Its incessant chatter makes you wonder about your thoughts' point of origin. You notice a wide array of thought forms. Some are original versions whose revelatory content causes you to pause and reflect; some are strung in a random chain reaction without rhyme or reason, at least on the conscious level.
Obsessive thinking is quite limiting, as it gets stuck into a mind-dulling loop. Creative thinking is open-ended, ever scouting for impactful ideas that hold within them the power to generate truth, beauty, and goodness — the prime nutrients for your evolving soul.
Divine thought processes are forever all-inclusive of the highest good, which is quite unfathomable for your finite mind. Living energy fuels your thoughts, whether you are awake or asleep. During Your dream life, you unconsciously process data.
Your best thinking occurs when you clearly define a subject matter of personal interest. You get absorbed in such rewarding thought materials to the point where you may temporarily forget about time and space — becoming spaced-out, not pejoratively speaking.
You are an actualized thought form! Live in such a way that you too lovingly manifest in your reality your best brain-children. The parental pride you will then feel when beholding your mental offspring will give you a faint idea of the fatherly pride of your benevolent Progenitor.”
