For a moment let us ponder the quality of life. Life unfolds through choices and decisions, trials and errors, misunderstandings, disappointments, hopes, fears, and little victories gained in the process, as well as joy that come from satisfaction about a job well done. There is a continual growth curve, although there is backsliding, which humanly happens, yet this must be seen against a larger background, necessary in the warp and weave in the fabric of the soul.
Let us now add the quality of the inner life, which is a reflection on the outer life. This is a deeper level of being; a level that brings a greater awareness of the true life awaiting each and everyone, for you will continue where you left off on the earth-plane, albeit with a greater understanding, once having passed through the portals of death, having left behind the mortal temple of human flesh. The journey carries on, and does so according to your accumulated strength and faith in the Source of all that is. Growth and flowering of your soul continue.
Do not allow remarks from others in your life to deter you from your choices and decision making, for this is your life you were called to live. Everyone will ultimately judge themselves, and see themselves as God sees them. The struggles on the earth-plane help develop strong moral characters with courage to keep the faith in the face of sometimes seemingly insurmountable difficulties.
Keep the courage, keep plugging along, learn, sharpen the tools of kindness, of understanding, of a willingness to stand aside to witness someone else’s struggle, allowing them their progress in growth. Remember the story of the man who saw a butterfly struggle to emerge from its pupa. He got the scissors and very carefully cut the covering open. In his kindness, but ignorance, he helped the butterfly emerge with immature wings and without the struggle which grows the wings. It never learned to fly, and therefore spent its short span of life on its belly, crawling around with difficulty.
Everyone likes a cheering crowd just once in a while, like the marathon runner getting weary and tired, but when nearing the end, a crowd is waiting to cheer him on. So it is with life, a greater courage grows in the person, who runs his or her race with very little cheering. It is this human who realizes a true cheering on of unseen presences running alongside him or her to give courage and renewed hope to faltering steps.
Rest assured these persons will enter ‘the gates of heaven’ less weary, because of the recognition of the unseen helpers, who cheered them on.
The message here is clear, child, that you are not alone in your struggles. Continue the good race of faith and trust, for truly, a cheering crowd is waiting for you, albeit not in human form.
Continue to run the race for the growth of your soul, and so enrich the quality of the inner life.

Subject: “About Prayer.”

“Remember, even if prayer does not change God, it very often effects great and lasting changes in the one who prays in faith and confident expectation.” [UB, 91:4.5]
Thought Adjuster: “Your religious upbringing taught you that the Father is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. Translated into modern language, He is everywhere, knows everything, and is all-powerful, able to do everything that is in harmony with His perfection.
From this perspective, it should dispel any doubt human beings may have about whether their prayers are heard and answered. The Father is “omnipresent”—He is right there within you, taking a very intimate personal interest in your life. In fact, He wishes to experience the colorful mosaic of life experiences through each one of His children.
The Father is also “in the know” of your thinking. He dwells within your mind and monitors it closely, not absent-mindedly. You matter to Him. You are most special to Him, as you are as unique as a snowflake. You are His creature, and nothing He creates is random. Therefore, He does not consider you as an accident of time but sees you as a potentially magnificent being, whose conception has been blessed with the purest loving intentions.
The Father is also “all-powerful. The only limitations to His power are the divine eternal Laws that He wisely enacted and that span all over the canvas of His ever-evolving creation to safeguard its integrity. The Law of Cause and Effect is forever part of that process. Only good, true, and beautiful intentions will ever be empowered and supported by the Father’s Vision.
Prayer is what allows the creature to commune with its Maker. Just as parents pay loving attention to the immature babbling of their little ones, the Father’s Heart is moved by any honest and heartfelt outreach. A lively conversation is a two-way street where one takes turns speaking and listening. It must be an intimate expression of your thinking and feeling to be the foundation for an authentic relationship.
How else could you expect any relevant and meaningful feedback if you do not present the Father with an accurate run-down of your life situation and dilemmas, which He already knows? There is no need to sugarcoat and water down your personal truth. Honest prayer is a means to “express” from your being whatever concerns you—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
In your modern civilization, many of you visit a “human shrink” to get help. You are spiritual beings and in need of spiritual guidance. Isn’t the Maker of your being the most qualified “Shrink” you could ever confide to? By turning to Him for advice, your confidence will never be betrayed or used against you, and you will receive constructive and enlightening feedback.
Frequently, some level of clarity and some degree of emotional relief will come to you through the mere articulation of a personal situation. Words bring on the outside what has been tightly buried on the inside. Your mouth and your heart are the portals through which much inner pressure can be released from your being once denial has been dealt with. It takes courage to face the music.
In His Wisdom, the Father may not provide you with instant feedback, but you can be assured that it will be forthcoming. He will not enable you to be complacent but will “en-courage” you to act so that you can truly bring forth the manifestation of the fruits of the Spirit in your life. Yours is to ask; His is to plant those spiritual seeds that will mature in divine timing through your personal efforts, as it is the process that will generate the most rightful pride and appreciation.”

Subject: “God’s Inevitabilities.”

Prolotheos: “Human beings enjoy free will to choose their own destinies, yet often manage to operate well beyond the limit of their prerogatives. However, at the end of the day they are finite creatures existing in a finite Universe, ruled by an infinite and sovereign God.
“The pendulum of finite reality may experience swing after swing from progression to regression and back again, and yet ultimately the perfect will of God will prevail – a wonderful adventure He proposed for Himself – to experience the myriad experiences of His own creatures.
“In theory, no change can ever exist with the Eternal, Infinite and Perfect God. If considered exclusively in absolute sense, creation could never exist as a new thing. Here, the concepts of potentialities and inevitabilities are useful to understand the ‘actions of God’. In God, realities can be seen as existential, actual and potential. These all manifest God, but in different ways. Existentials are the primary and ontological attributes of God that make Him the infinite I AM. Actuals are potentials that are actualized as inevitabilities, out of His infinite possibilities. It’s due to this eternal dynamics that God is He, and is not His Creation (the alter reality)
“To bring the inevitabilities of God to our practical relationship with Him, let us talk about God’s will, love and justice. The will of God is inevitable because He is a person. Only a personal God could create personal beings. We all have to face the fact that there is a Sovereign Will ruling the Universe, to which we are all willingly drawn to submit.
“God’s love is inescapable. It tells us that God is a good God. Neither a thing nor creature in this vast Universe is deprived of God’s love, which permeates all. Evil does not preclude the presence of God’s love. Rather it becomes more evident that ‘where evil abounds, love abounds more strongly’. God’s love is contagious and attractive, but never forcibly manipulated. God never ceases to love us, even if we cease to love Him. God’s love is inevitable, and impossible to hide from.
“The justice of God is inevitable, but never a punishment. Justice, as the word suggests, is an adjustment. God’s justice is His way of adjusting all things to His loving and perfect will. God’s justice is rooted in His primacy to all. There is a tension between the perfect love of God and His perfect justice, which is solved by His perfect mercy. Justice is fair, but mercy is beyond fairness – it is forgiveness, patience, long suffering, enough to bring humans to acknowledge (and if they want to accept this) the goodness of God. Mercy, however, is not endless. When all mercy is reject, humans will face the fair, inevitable and final justice of God – to which they do willingly submit themselves.

Teacher Ophelius: “Today we would like to continue the discussion on the theme of divine love – what it is and what prevents you from experiencing the greatest love you can ever know. Divine love is the deepest feeling of freedom you will ever know. It is a knowing that you are never alone and that whatever happens to you in this life or the next, you are loved eternally from within, not from without, but from the Source of all love, the God of creation. Divine love is independent of all external sources and because it is independent and from within, there is nothing that can keep its transforming power from those who embrace it.
“Fear, my friends, is the enslaver of this freedom to be loved and to know complete assurance of destiny. You students on the path who are beginning to experience this feeling of complete freedom and assurance of destiny know all too well the fear that it can generate in those around you who have not the love and light of total freedom. Pride, self-importance, and selfishness are the breeders of fear and mistrust, for those who walk in darkness fear they will lose their control over temporal standing or that they will be found weak in the eyes of their peers to embrace such an ideal as divine love, faith and acceptance.
“Those who fear the light often stand with their backs at the door of love and prevent those who would willingly enter. Blinded by ego, they cannot see that they too must also tread this same ground that you who have the light are experiencing if they are to receive eternal life. Those who resist change and reject the light must remain in their place until which time they see the error of their thinking and willingly choose to move on and progress toward the light – if not in this world, then in the next. You gain nothing by passing into death – you continue on at the same place, spiritually speaking, and must discover on your own the freedom of living in the light of divine love and assurance.
“Faith is the bridge which leads from darkness to light, for only faith can break the bondage of fear that keeps the soul from growing. Faith in the sovereignty of God and in His promise of eternal life leads to this blessed assurance and total freedom from all fear. The expression of love for your fellows (the fruits of the spirit) is the outward sign that a soul is progressing and moving toward this freedom from fear. Faith can be willingly embraced or it can come with great pain.
“Those who resist divine love and light will have the opportunity to step into the light at the cost of great pain, for God’s love for all is so great, He will do everything possible to extend His hand of love and mercy to those who are in confusion. Once all opportunities and mercy has been rejected, that soul has made the decision to descend eternal life and cease the continuance of existence, for God does not force His gift of eternity upon any soul.
“The freedom to live and to love is yours. The Creator wants you to experience divine love, to know Him and to know that you are the child of this Creator Father who loves you unconditionally and who will go to great lengths to demonstrate His love for you by searching for that which is lost and extending His invitation to come into the fold of His beloved flock and experience life in the creation to the fullest measure of perfection – to become perfect as He is perfect. The door to eternity is open to all that embrace divine love.

Thought Adjuster: “With each passing day, something within you opens and fills with a substance that no one else knows. The needs out there—those that society tells you are important—become increasingly irrelevant. Those struggles to always have more, to always want to be somehow superior to others, are being left behind, for life reveals itself more and more as the supreme adventure in which we are all protagonists of our own personal story—the story of the journey from the animal to the spiritual.
When a human being begins to awaken to the reality of their eternal spiritual destiny, priorities begin to organize themselves more clearly in the mind. The shine of material things begins to fade for those who have tasted spiritual nectars. The simple things in life—those that were often ignored in the past—now become the source of inspiration and supreme satisfaction. Relationships with others, the ability to think independently, the capacity to observe our thoughts and know that we are alive—these are the treasures of those who live awake, seeking constant connection with the Father, the source of all things.
A moment will come when you will decide that you know enough to choose how you will live your life independently and with full freedom. Materialistic society imposes conditions and manufactures needs that spiritual beings do not truly possess. The ability to transcend these limitations lies within each person, and it depends on each individual to seek answers within themselves and to build a philosophy of life illuminated by the truth that the presence of God in the human mind provides.
This understanding of truth is nothing other than the attainment of true freedom and the pursuit of authentic happiness. Those who live subject to the conditions of the world suffer the ups and downs experienced when walking without a defined direction. If we do not know where we are going, we are more likely to end up in some dark and uncomfortable corner, lost due to our own lack of insight. But when one lives aspiring to spiritual rewards, the changes that may occur in the world will not greatly affect those among you with a more developed spirituality, because their happiness and satisfaction originate within themselves. They have found the connection to the Source of all that exists and drink directly from the energy that sustains everything in the universe—the infinite and unconditional love of the Father.”
